If you disagree with the decision of the Board of Equalization, you may appeal to the State Tax Commission. Instructions on how to appeal to the State Tax Commission will be outlined on your Board Decision Letter. For questions about filing State Tax Commission appeals, contact the STC at 573-751-1715 or [email protected].
All taxpayers are responsible for paying their real estate taxes on time regardless of whether they appeal to the State Tax Commission. If your appeal is pending, you may pay your taxes “under protest” in accordance with state and local law. If a decision of the Commission results in a tax refund, the Collector of Revenue’s Office will issue a refund.
Any questions regarding property tax refunds should be directed to the Collector of Revenue’s Office at 314-615-5500.
