One Million Vaccines Distributed in St. Louis County

St. Louis County residents have received more than 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, County Executive Dr. Sam Page announced Monday morning. As a result, 54.7% of the population has at least one dose and 48.4% are fully vaccinated.

“While we have a long road ahead of us, it is worth stopping for a moment to celebrate how far we have come in this pandemic battle,” Dr. Page said. “We have reached a milestone in the fight against COVID-19 in St. Louis County.”

The 1,004,413 shots recorded by the state as of Friday were distributed by a wide variety of vaccinators, from health systems to community events to private pharmacies. They include first and second doses as well as booster shots to those who are eligible.

The county’s vaccination rate exceeds the statewide rate of 44.8% but still lags behind public health targets. County officials urge residents to continue wearing masks in public settings to reduce the spread of disease.
